Kohfeldt hopes for Werder Bremens Bundesliga
Florian Kohfeldt no longer experienced the last game day of last season in a responsible role. After a 0-2 in Augsburg on the penultimate matchday, the then Werder coach had to take his hat off, the rest of the story is known: Bremen rose with Thomas Schaaf on the sidelines through a 2: 4 against Borussia Mönchengladbach, Kohfeldt hired in the end of October in Wolfsburg. And now hopes that his ex- and heart club will return to the Bundesliga at the weekend.
“My connection is still there, that’s no secret,” says Kohfeldt. Of course he still pursues Werder, the 39-year-old was used in various roles for the Hanseatic League for 20 years, and the descent was difficult for him. Therefore it is clear “who I keep my fingers crossed on Sunday afternoon”. Werder is enough in the home game against Jahn Regensburg to return. In that league, in which there would be reunion with Kohfeldt.
Kohfeldt has blocked all inquiries about Werder past in Wolfsburg in recent months, he is now sticking to that. “I want to stay consistent and not comment on other locations,” explains the football teacher, who will keep his fingers crossed for his ex-club in front of the television on Sunday. “Hopefully I will watch it benevolently, then it would be a good afternoon.” And Bremen again a Bundesliga club.
